We are a community organization focused on supporting immigrants, refugees, and vulnerable families in Southern New Mexico. Al Rajaa Community Centre for Empowerment was founded in the fall of 2021 by Rajaa Shindi and her daughter, Hiba Muhyi. With the support and funding from the Kellogg Foundation, they started this center to meet the needs of Afghan refugees resettling in the region. What started as a small effort to help newly arrived families has evolved into a community hub that serves people from various backgrounds.  

We believe that strong communities grow through connection, trust, and mutual support. Our work centers on creating safe spaces, strengthening families, and helping individuals feel they belong in their new home.

We work with immigrants, refugees, and vulnerable communities to provide support, guidance, and opportunities that promote stability, dignity, and self-reliance. Our mission is to create an inclusive community where everyone is welcomed, supported, and empowered. Through community partnerships and family-focused programs, we aim to bring hope, Al Rajaa, to those we serve.
